Take Your Dog to Work Day!

We love our fur babies and hate the long work weeks, when we have to leave them behind all day. After a long, stressful work day their sweet faces make it all better! But, what if for ONE day you didn’t have to leave your pup behind at home?!

Look how happy his face is?  This is from one year when a coworker of ours took her dog to work…priceless smile:)

On Friday, June 24th, 2016 celebrate “Take Your Dog to Work Day”!!

Yes, you heard us correct- take your dog to work!!! 🙂 How nice would it be for your fur baby to accompany you to the office?! Most of us pet parents would love to have our pups with us all day, every day but unfortunately we cannot. So, it is nice to have the opportunity to celebrate once a year and bring them along for the day. Your fur babies will love it, too! …..Now, how much work will be done this day– well, that is hard to say (hehe)….

Pet Sitters International (PSI) came up with the day back in 1999 and has continued each year thereafter. The reason for this day some may think is because our pups miss us so much while we are at work, so let’s bring them for a day. Or, possibly it could be because we have bring your son/daughter to work day, so why not create a day for our doggies to come with us, too?! But, these reasons are not quite why. The real reason why PSI came up with this special day? It is to celebrate the companions dogs make and encourages adoptions from local shelters, rescue groups & humane societies. “Take your Dog to Work Day” is always held annually the 1st Friday after Father’s Day.

Also, PSI promotes a photo contest for this day to all who partake. Winner receives a cash prize as well as a donation made to an animal shelter or rescue group of the winner’s choice! For information on the photo contest, check out PSI’s website.

If you are interested in taking your pup to work with you on June 24th, speak to your employer. There may be some guidelines you will have to follow. You will also want to make sure it is cleared with your employer first and that you have permission to bring your pup to work this day.

Little Friends office staff will have our pups with us at work! We cannot wait to have our beloved pets right by our side! We are almost positive that the pups will be thrilled to have a change of pace this day, too! We hope as many businesses and employers take part in this once a year day!

Pet Appreciation Week 6/5-6/11

It is Pet Appreciation Week and I (Lauren) get to write the blog! I do have two fur kids, one Schnauzer mix and a Schnorkie (puppy mill rescue).

I have created  a list of  photos in ways I show my appreciation to my pets, 365 days of the year!

From a fresh summer hair cut to letting them roll around in the sand, I am a dog mom to the fullest.

Hope you enjoy the pics!

They are ALWAYS welcome on the bed…

Yes, they do come to work with me sometimes…

My PERMA- back seat drivers… (they are excited!)

Either bows or Bandanas… Mollie got a cut!

They get to celebrate Howl-o-ween too!

Romantic winter beach sunset session with my boy!

In a snow storm (in the South), they come with me wherever I may go, with their embroidered jackets on tight!

Mollie prefers the ocean, hands down!

Had to include this one as well, pure happiness! Sand is not the easiest to get out of fur like hers!

I manage a pet sitting company, so of course I walk them EVERYDAY!

I live in Elizabeth and we love our evening walks…

No, I have no clue why Scotch begs….

BarkBox Love…. enough said!

Not too many dogs I know, get homemade beds…

Uncle Scotch and Aunt Mollie and a stuffed kitty make for a great car ride..

Sometimes, a small boy dog needs to be “badass”….

I let them then have “play dates”…

Merry Grinchmas!  Ready for Santa!

Is it pathetic that I could go on and on?

I make their own food and order belly bands (poise pads from Amazon in bulk for Scotch because he likes to hike his leg wherever/whenever).

Most importantly, I appreciate my dogs, they are the reason I love my career, my life, and being a dog mom. I really do not know what I would do without their company (every second):)
