Meet the Owner and Management Team

Terry Richardson and Jon Noyes - Owners

Terry and Jon are true animal lovers. They are parents of 3 dogs and throughout their lives, they have had many other pets including dogs, cats, birds, and fish.

Terry worked in the corporate world for 30+ years. She has implemented many ‘small business’ type functions and enjoys building businesses from the ground up while implementing best practices to ensure efficient and effective core operating elements. The client is ALWAYS the focus of any business she has implemented.

Jon worked in the service industry with major hotels and vacation resorts for 30+ years. He has the ability to put himself in the ‘shoes’ of the client and ensures all of the processes, policies and practices we use at Little Friends has the client as the center of the focus.

In 2009, Terry and Jon needed to find care for her kitty while she and her husband were out of town. Previously the care they used included either friends, neighbors, or boarding. They had exhausted the ‘kindness’ of their friends and neighbors and did not want to board their kitty. They decided to hire a pet sitter. Wow! What a fantastic experience. It clicked! They decided to become pet sitters. And why not start a full-fledged pet sitting and dog walking company? In 2010 they opened Little Friends Pet Sitting.

Terry has a BS degree in Food and Nutrition from East Carolina University and an AA degree in Computer Programming from Pitt Community College. She is a member of Pet Sitters International (PSI). She also has a pet sitter certification from PSIT and the National Associate of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) and a pet first aid certification from both Pet Tech and the Red Cross.

Jon has a BS degree in finance and a Pet Grooming certification from the Animal Behavior College (ABC). He also has a pet first aid certification from the Red Cross.

They enjoy spending time with their pet family, human family and friends.

Terry is a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction. She enjoys traveling and WORK! Yep, she loves to work and is always thinking of new and innovative aspects to her pet sitting and dog walking business which will benefit the clients, their pets and the pet sitters and dog walkers who care for them.

Jon loves all things ‘water’. He does a lot of the dog walking for Little Friends and his own three dogs. He is an avid sailor and boater. He also loves spending time working in the yard making things ‘beautiful’ with flowers, trees and plants.

Beth D. – Client Service Manager

Hi! My name is Beth. Originally from Albany, NY, I moved to Charlotte in 2000 and have lived here ever since! I have 3 beautiful daughters and 1 four legged fur child, King. My family is my number 1 priority. As an avid animal lover, I have grown up around all different kinds of animals my entire life. I always enjoyed being around animals and interacting with them. Aside from animals, I enjoy interacting with people as well. So, I was happy to find a job where I can do this all day long.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. With a house full of girls you can imagine our favorite thing to do is go shopping. We also love taking King around to the park, pet store and wherever else we can get him in.

I have been a part of the Little Friends team since 2012. I get to work closely with our clients and sitters each day, making sure your pet’s care is top dog!  Aside from working in the office, you may also come across me as your pet sitter. I actively take pet sits aside from being in the office. Either way, we will have the pleasure of working together to ensure your pets are loved and cared for while you cannot be there! I look forward to having the opportunity to be a part of your Little Friends experience!

Lexxi York, Client Service Representative

Hey there! I have lived in Charlotte for 6 years now; which is the longest I have lived anywhere in my life. My biggest passion in life has always been animals. I was a veterinary assistant for a small & large animal hospital and was fully trained as a receptionist and assistant for both the small & large hospitals. Ended up stepping back from it as I could not handle the sad parts that come with the job. This job has been an excellent happy medium for me as I enjoy administrative work and still getting to work with animals. Hoping to go back to school for Business Administration soon!

In my spare time, you can find me either at a bar somewhere in Ballantyne, or trivia nights at Sugar Creek Brewery, or at home with my cats binge watching Netflix while eating chips & salsa from my favorite restaurant. I have three cats! I adopted Oly (3 y/o) and Oscar (12 y/o) from the Humane Society of York County in the summer of 2017. I also have Pumpkin, who I have had for 7 years now; her mamma and siblings were found behind a dumpster in West Texas where I lived at the time. When she was 4 months old, she broke her growth bone on her back right leg and had to get it amputated, but that doesn’t hold her back! Some fun facts about me:

  • I started riding horses when I was 8 y/o and still have my incredibly handsome horse, Sundance, that I have had since I was 9. He and I pretty much grew up together as he was only about 3 when I got him.
  • I have moved more than 20 times and have lived in 5 states: California, Texas, Nevada, North Carolina, and Indiana.
  • I had surgery on my left wrist twice and right wrist once in high school.
  • Went to school for Dental Assisting and am certified, but never pursued it as a career.

I look forward to helping you and your fur family out.

Norma, Client Service Representative

I am always finding something to smile about since it is good medicine for the soul. Long walks in the park with my furry baby makes my day and to end it off I enjoy a glass of my favorite drink as I bird watch in my backyard. Taking pictures of each moment keeps the memories alive.

I moved to Charlotte from Miami fifteen months ago and I have enjoyed getting to know the city. My favorite thing to do is discover new parks where I can enjoy the outdoors with my furry babies. I served in the pet sitting industry for over 10 years in Miami and have missed being a part of it. I am glad to be working alongside Little Friends Pet sitting and Dog walking family and am looking forward to serving you and pampering your pets.

Monique, Client Service Representative

Growing up I spent every summer camping with my family all over the Midwest, I love making homemade treats for my furbabies, I share my birthday with Michelangelo, and I’ve lived in California, Texas, Georgia, Ohio, and now North Carolina!

I currently live in Concord and I was born in Los Angeles CA, but I’ve spent most of my life in Columbus OH. Go, Bucks! I’m studying for a degree in Psychology, I am a certified dog groomer, and I enjoy volunteering with animal shelters in my free time.

Fun Facts:
I boarded and took care of a Bengal Tiger for about four months, while pregnant! I love to fish, been fishing for Catfish on the Cape Fear River many times. Biggest caught was 56 lbs. Best at catching the bait for the big cats (Brim, Sunfish, Shellcrackers, etc.) I have owned at least 10 different animal species. Tiger, cats, dogs, horses, lamb, bunny rabbits, goat, wild geese, tame geese, Polled Hereford steer, and fish what I can remember. I am a survivor from an old-fashioned canon shoot in Southern Michigan when I was about 12. Many others were hurt, but Dad and I were just blown out of our chairs. Scary, but lessons were learned! I have shown both dogs and horses. Bringing many of the dog species to International Grand Champion status. I have owned many different breeds of dogs. Many were show dogs others were just pets. Included in the line up are; Great Pyrenees, German Shepherds, Skye Terrier, Australian Shepard’s, Cocker Spaniels, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Schnauzer, and Dobermans!

Bio:
I live in the boonies (at least everyone in Charlotte says I do), on a wooden 2-acre tract of land with a stream running through the back of the property. I have lived in North Carolina for about 30 years. I grew up lived in Michigan until I was 22, then I moved to Florida. Hated it there, so after my kids were born, I came to North Carolina which I absolutely adore! I have been able to raise two children to adulthood, by myself. I have always been self-reliant, lucky for me. I have helped to bring several small businesses to the point of becoming pillars of their communities. Was successful in growing one business from a fledging 100K a year business into a full-blown, mid-sized corporation in four short years. We grew from a size 75 customer base to over 300. I was published in a National Magazine with the honor of being named “Top 50” in the country for our industry. I love to hunt for Ancient American Indian artifacts and tools. I have many, many tools and arrowheads, axes, and adz. I am in my flower garden every day until dark, many hours of work go into my garden. I also create found wire jewelry pieces, some I have even made the chains! One day this will be my business!

Fun Facts:
I was in a Navy JROTC unit for one year of high school (freshman) and a Marine Corps JROTC unit for the three remaining years of high school. I’m a gymnastics coach at Carolina Flipz and I was a competitive gymnast myself, for 8 and a half years! I got my bearded dragon after my English teacher in my Senior year of high school brought hers in and I completely fell in love. I named my bearded dragon after a popular video game character from when I was little. I’m currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics. I lived all over the east coast!

Bio:
I grew up all over the east coast, starting in Morgantown, West Virginia, then approximately ten moves later (FL-GA-MD), I landed myself in North Carolina, where I feel more “at home” than I have anywhere else. I’ve always been a huge supporter of the armed forces and after four years of Marine Corps JROTC, I wanted to join myself; however due to unfortunate circumstances, I’m medically disqualified. This forced me to give up the dream of mine to become a USMC Drill Instructor, and allowed me to go down a different path towards a mathematics degree. I’m currently working towards earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and hopefully being able to work my way back into the military field through a civilian position. In the meantime, I’m able to continue doing what I love by working with children as a gymnastics coach, and of course, working with animals as a pet sitter!

Fun Facts:
I was born in Ohio but spent most of my life in Florida. I moved to North Carolina in 2012 and currently reside in Concord. I have been an animal lover all my life. I have owned dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, horses, and birds. I love helping people and animals. My hobbies are listening to music, decorating and horseback riding. I love to travel and my favorite place is San Juan, Puerto Rico, it’s so beautiful there. If you have never been, you must go!

Bio:
I am semi-retired. I am also a driver for Lyft and Uber, which I have been doing for the past 3 months and have met a lot of really nice people. I have also had two businesses of my own, a residential cleaning service and a country gift store. I was also a flight attendant for about four years, sure miss those free flights. I have family still living in Florida and try to visit them a couple of times each year. I have also raised a great son, who is now 22 and a second-grade teacher. I am a proud mom! I am so excited, I recently joined the Little Friends Pet Sitting Team and hope you will give me the opportunity to care for your babies as if they were my own.
